====== sgii2.n ====== ==== Download ==== Download sgii2.011 for OS X here ==== About ==== sgii2.n is a free screen-casting application that creates .mov format quicktime movies at variable frame rate with stereo PCM audio @ 44.1Khz. \\ Currently only available for Mac OS X - a build for Windows is on the way. This application was built for the Inclusive Improv Live Coding Project \\ The default frame rate is 3 fps, which is has proved adequate for live code screen-casts, and keeps file size down in light of the fullscreen resolution being captured. It is possible to select a smaller area of your screen to grab. The frame rate can be set in integer steps between 1 and 30 - **however** the internal grab refresh rate has not been linked and is fixed at 5 fps. Also please note that the font settings for the 'opening credits' are currently fixed. The default text for the 'opening credits' is customizable: * -> in Finder, 'Show Package Contents' of the sgii2p011.app * -> within the 'Contents' folder find the file '_credits.txt' * edit the first four lines of this file to set the default text ==== Screen Shot ==== ==== Use ==== * -> Select audio driver and input source * -> Start DSP * -> Set record length in minutes * -> If you want to grab a smaller area of the screen click **section** rather than **fullscreen** * a settings window will pop up -> red text warns of out-of-range selection * -> Click **Start Screen Grab** * -> Set text and timings for opening credits * -> Name .mov file to write (default = 'date_time.mov') * -> Choose folder to save it to * The recording will begin as soon as you choose the folder: * First, the Credits are recorded to the file in real time * (audio is live during this time) * Then the Countdown will then begin and your screen is recorded * When the Countdown reaches zero, the recording will stop. ==== Version History ==== Version 2 developed by Sam Freeman \\ First version of this software was built by Scott Hewitt
