sgii2.n is a free screen-casting application that creates .mov format quicktime movies at variable frame rate with stereo PCM audio @ 44.1Khz.
Currently only available for Mac OS X - a build for Windows is on the way.
This application was built for the Inclusive Improv Live Coding Project
The default frame rate is 3 fps, which is has proved adequate for live code screen-casts, and keeps file size down in light of the fullscreen resolution being captured.
It is possible to select a smaller area of your screen to grab. The frame rate can be set in integer steps between 1 and 30 - however the internal grab refresh rate has not been linked and is fixed at 5 fps. Also please note that the font settings for the 'opening credits' are currently fixed.
